You wouldn't actually.

Transmission oil cooler popped off...lost coolent...now I have to replace the coolent and seals this morning...the fix should be easy. Can you believe that only the wire latch holds that cooler on.?..but I think there is suction too right? to keep the fitting tight?

Today it was time for the rear pads/rotors/sensor. About 120 bucks for everything from RockAuto. Can't beat that. Passenger side had just started to go metal on metal, so I guess it was about time.

Also cleared the lean codes (P0171/174 or 2882/2883) once again. Poked around a little bit in the engine bay but still can't find any noticeable vacuum leaks, so the search continues.

I'm having lean codes as well, they only pop up on long highway drives. I've replaced all ccv system, gaskets from intake manifold up and have smoke tested and confirmed no vacuum leaks.

Have you smoke tested for vac leaks? I'm pretty sure at 200,000kms on mine it's fair to say I'll be doing complete o2 refresh soon.

Nah... Havenít smoke tested. Been pushing it out, but probably need to do it ome of these days. The codes are intermittent and after reset they can be gone for weeks at a time and sometiems they come back within just a few days.

Just need my daughter to drop it off for a few days at some point when it finally cools down around here. Hate working on crap when itís 100-something degrees outside like yesterday when I did the brakes.

lots of lame/false codes are down to software

>software inadequacies in this one/programming with the maxi also covered

BMW individual module programming using Autel MaxiSys MS908P.

Thx for the vŪdeo luis, it may be a stupid question but here it goes what sort of situation would have to programme a car module...***65279;

Hi
I give you an example...
My 7 series, had for a long time a fault with one of the airbag modules... would come up with something like internal failure...
Clear the the codes, would last for days, sometimes weeks and even months....
Has been doing it for 2 years... I was too lazy to reprogram it...
But finally done it around Christmas last year... no issues ever since...
This is just an example... the manufacturer sometimes releases updates to rectify or improve deliverability etc...
Thank you for watching!***65279;

Installed a new GUIBO, CSB and did an Oil Change. While down there I also opened up my actuator to inspect my wheel and it was superb compared to the ones I've seen online. Since I had another one on hand I replaced it anyways. The CSB and GUIBO took days due to the rusted bolts on the exhaust below..

Last weekend was Eccentric Sensor and Valve cover gasket. I am totally exhausted.

how to attach pics/pdfs etc etc

follow the pics below

>click on the paper clip

>only load one thing at a time from the panel in the second picture below ....this panel will pop up when you click on the paper clip.....you will see "choose file" radio button you can use to load stuff

>follow the guidelines for max file size

>navigate to where your pics/etc are on your computer......putting them easily accessible on the desktop is good

>click on the upload radio button and wait a few seconds for them to spring into you bimmerfest post.....you will see the panel etc pop a bit

>then rinse and repeat for the next picture/screen shot etc etc etc

>if you mess up and want to add/delete anything simply edit your post and take the extra click of "GO ADVANCED".....like in pic number 3 below.....this will enable the full edit of the subject line and attachments

>good work on the arm rest

Had a productive week! Replaced driveshaft support bearing and realigned driveshaft, replaced the CCV hoses and collector, replaced front speakers, replaced hatch emblem, touched up lots of rock chips, cleaned out sunroof drains. Car is getting a little better everyday!

Mein Auto:
Bought my X3 this past weekend and started to look for things to do.
yesterday, I found these wheels on Craigslist, price seemed good to me and put them on. They are Style 594s from 2010 X6, 19" wheels tires 255/50/19. I really like the way it looks compared to the 17" stock wheels. Unfortunately the tires rub a little on the wheel well plastic when I turn hard on the steering wheel. I have 2 options 1- cut some of that plastic off, and save me some money(tires are 95% new) or 2-suck it up and but smaller tires probably 245/45/19 all around.

Also took it to dealer to get some recalls done for the pcv valve replacement and also for seat mat, which will have to wait until part arrive.

My daughter got married today and I got her X for the next week while they're honeymooning in Aruba. Don't think there's too much I need to do, but guess I'll have to wait and see what I can find... Looks loke even the SES light hasn't reappeared since the last time I cleared it a few weeks ago.

New Pioneer subwoofers under seat

After changing door speakers (alpine SPS-410s) today I went ahead and also changed the under seat subwoofers.
I went with 8" Pioneer TS-SW2002D2. which sound great and much cheaper than the BavSound and earthquake subs.

Dropped 4 liters of ATF out and refreshed. Got Valvoline Max life for under $5 aliter onAmazon , in the gallonjugs.

Elapsed time 45 minutes!

Technique...gray transmission funnel tied to roof rail, hose snaked into fill port.

T45 for drain. 17 mm hex for fill

Last drain and fill in summer 2016, fluid red brown.

Let me see if I envision this you say above.
a funnel and hose is attached to the roof rail (passenger side?). you've snaked the hose to the tranny fill plug?
The car was on jacks?
You started with a cold car no doubt?
at this point chances are you were looking to get the most fluid drained out which was 5 litres?
At this point you were able to put in the same amount of fluid you removed?
Was there any starting and stopping the engine?
And finally, you know when your finished when you've returned the same amount of fluid that you've removed?
Is that all? any other tips tricks...and you were successful no doubt? Any major spillage? you used a clear hose?
