Bluetooth

So as of today I purchased my first BMW and decided to go with a 2015 BMW xDrive28i but I'm having some issues.

The sales person, and the website, said that I would have Bluetooth capabilities but I do not have a phone option in the settings to even set anything up. I was wondering if maybe I'm missing something or if perhaps something is wrong. I've looked up YouTube videos and followed the manual that came with the car but I don't have the button to press that everyone says I should have.

Thanks!

Are you saying you don't see the "TEL" icon in the menu ? Also assuming you don't have iDrive ?

Exactly. There isn't a telephone option at all and I do not have iDrive.

I'm also learning about other issues with this car as well. The USB doesn't work and neither does the Aux port. It won't play anything but it'll play the radio just fine.

Maybe disconnect the battery for about an hour to let it all reset. If you post the last seven of the VIN we can look up the options and see what it has. But it should have BT at the very least.

Can you take a pic of the radio for us too?

First, let me say I'm shocked that Bluetooth isn't standard on any 2015 model of any vehicle anywhere in the world.
But according to your VIN, I don't see it.

As far as I can tell, the E84 X1 needs option 7KB (Basic Bluetooth), or 7H9. (Nav package with extended Bluetooth)
Are you in North America?

That was my thought. No premium package? I canít remember now if that was required.

In fact, there's still a lot of cars sold BRAND NEW that don't have integrated Bluetooth for hands-free. I feel it should be mandated at this point in time, but hey, in Canada we aren't even required by law to have airbags......

As has been noted thus far, doesn't look like this E84 has the Bluetooth option.

No matter what cable I use to plug into the USB port it would say cable not compatible. I would like to play music from my phone. I found this original cable

Music-/media adapter Apple iPod/iPhone 5/5S/6/6S/7 lightning to USB/jack Product number: 61-12-2-408-012, The product is original

Is this the only way of playing music?

Are you sure you have the ability to play music from your phone via USB port ? I would have presumed you'd need to use the AUX cable..... Here's a test just to make sure things are working like they're supposed to - put some MP3s on an empty USB thumb drive and plug it into the USB port. It should play the MP3s.

You canít play Bluetooth audio in the older X1s without enhanced Bluetooth audio and navigation system.

You will need the split audio cable to make music sync.

But you should be able to sync and use the phone feature.

For those that have the "professional radio"...which sucks beyond belief....and want to bluetooth stream from your phone.

this one works : $36
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It actually sends music thru the aux port.

this one does not : $89
