The N63 bulletin specifies battery also, so I hope that they take care of this under warranty when I take my car back on Tuesday.

I also hope my dealership figures out this recall by Tuesday, I want my car checked while they have it.

Also, the customer care package mentions a loaner that is equivalent or higher in class is what should be given to the customer. Does that mean we should get at least a 5 series? My dealer gives us 3 series and X3's as loaners, a 5 series or higher would be nice.
Did you go to Jackie Cooper BMW? Or are you in the Tulsa area? I just emailed JC about this exact recall and I have yet to hear back from them. If I don't get a response by Friday via email I will go in on Saturday with it paperwork in hand and SB numbers and all.

Yes, Jackie Cooper in Edmond/OKC. The service advisor I have dealt with on my visits is James, but he wasn't there so I talked to Shawn. He wasn't aware of this recall. They were extremely busy today so I didn't bother pursuing it further, but I will on Tuesday since I have an appointment.

If you find out anything, I would appreciate it if you let me know. I will do the same if I find out anything from them.

I have made my appointment, but I doubt my dealer will stick with the "same class or better" since they can not guarantee availability of anything...you get what you get.

I was hoping to get a shot at the 435 GC they had as that is one of the cars we are considering for my wife, but I guess I will be lucky to get any car from them. Last time I got a 320 and I HATED that car...not sure which was worse, the Camry I had after my wife was hit at a light, or that.

Anybody have a bulletin number on the sales sheet? At the dealership now. I've had my SA read the service one, but he didn't have any info on the sales side.

Yeah, I'm at classic right now. My SA is at BMW of Dallas. He's the one that was giving me some info on the service side.

OK thanks, I know that the dealerships will start talking to each other, so I want to make sure they don't try to short change us. Let us know how it goes. Thanks!

Didn't see the bulletin in his computer. Odd. Said they may have more info on Friday. I'm supposed to be back on Friday anyways to give them my passport.

I've had all the same items replace and valve guides to my 2011 550ix. I hope there is a recall soon.

This is your shot to get something done. This is a real thing and you can schedule your appointments asap. The only missing info is on the sales side and how it will impact trade ins, etc.

I doubt there's going to be an official recall. This is just a customer "appreciation package" as opposed to calling it a full blown recall. In my opinion this will dramatically impact the number of people that take advantage, and also the govt doesn't have to get involved.

Just to give everyone an idea of what all of this costs...I had a little over half the things done on the original list, plus some extra items, and it was over $10,000. My guess is someone at BMW NA realized how much they were reimbursing dealerships for their screw ups and enough people (like myself) were going ballistic. I know I'm not the only one on this board that has had rough idle, shaking, drive train, multiple injectors replaced, etc., etc. It's just pathetic it took them this long.

Cool, I'm going back on Friday. I'll bring this up then, so hopefully we can see what we're dealing with. Have you seen any other specifics?

Nothing other than what I've already posted. Ironically enough, I haven't been able to find the sales bulletin (V-1-1214-56) that the service bulletin mentions. The number may be a typo, or it just hasn't been released yet.

I'm wondering if it hasn't been released yet. The BMW CR guy I talked with jokingly suggested they will release it Monday so most people couldn't double dip with the holiday cash. I don't know if that is too far off base...

Wow, BMW's late to the game on this one. I hope from the customer end they receive some beneficial impact from this.

Looks like a they'll do a pull-ahead program to load up 2015 N63tu production to swap out N63 series cars and auction them off--get them out of their system and warranty obligations.

What about the people that had no support before this? BMW Factory and BMW NA had no problem telling customers too bad.

My 2012 550 with the dealer for last 4 days due to Drivetrain Malfunction. All 8 fuel injectors and battery getting replaced. Called yesterday to check status and was told about new recall. Timing chain and sprockets checked and deemed to be fine as it was the right manufacturer and within spec.

This issue will definitely affect the trade in value of cars affected. Feel sorry for folks that bought instead of leased.

You should do a little more research on the current situation before making your claims. BMW has stated that even cars out of warranty are eligible for this campaign and repair work, and that even if a car is traded in, the dealership should perform these checks before reselling the car. Hence, no cars are being 'dumped' and no owner is left out in the cold.

BMW has acknowledged that a problem exists, and in my opinion, is making a reasonable effort to take care of their customers.

I think all of us who bought are hoping the trade incentive makes up for the hit. Not holding my breath though.

I already paid a independent shop to make some of these repairs (they wanted approx 2k less than BMW to replace the fuel injectors). I feel a little left out in the cold since BMW NA had stated at most I could get reimbursed for the parts, but not labor.

Good point raised on another thread - Remove CAIs and put any mods back to OEM before taking your car in for warranty repairs. Don't give them a reason to deny coverage.

I didn't see anything when I looked on the Ask a Dealer section, but I'm wondering if John or Greg would have any info on the sales side.

BMW had its technicians and its factory master tech look at my N63 due to the car running rough, cats burning fuel, and a pretty audible tick after the car through a drivetrain malfunction. BMW replaced the injectors and plugs which did not solve the problem. BMW corporate said they would do nothing further.

BMW has not acknowledged the problem. There was no reasonable effort in my experience. Perhaps you should review this issue in more depth.

Was this "post recall"?
