Drivers LED Fog Light Lamp - 2014 740Li xdrive

So I just acquired a 2014 740Li xdrive. Today I noticed the driver side LED fog light is out. It seemed strange that an LED light would be out. I know they don't last forever, but five years??

The dealer I purchased from is two hours away, not quite close enough for what is likely a minor issue.

After internet searching, it seems as though the led fog lights are a single component rather than a housing with a replaceable bulb: https://www.oembmwminiparts.com/oem-...MtMGwtbDYtZ2Fz

Can anyone confirm? If this is the case, how do I remove it?

Could it just be a fuse? Does anyone have a fuse diagram?

Thanks,
Mel

According to ISTA, you need to remove the plastic grille next to the fog light to access the single screw that is holding the fog light in place. There are six tabs on the grille, three on top and three on bottom.

Since this seems fairly easy to remove, I would probably swap the passenger side fog light over (assuming the connector is the same) to confirm there aren't any wiring issues. If you have a multimeter, that would work too. It's possible that the wiring was damaged, perhaps from rodents, so I would check this before ordering a replacement. I don't think there's any way to repair the LED assembly unless you've got the expertise to fix small electronics and have the right parts.

Thanks. The grille popped off easily. The wiring connection to the housing had come lose. Very easy fix! It's worth nothing that there also appears to be a level adjustment screw accessible behind the grille in case anyone feels like their fog lights point to low or high.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix, good thing you didn't go to the dealer first.

For sure the dealer would have said I needed new wiring, a new housing and 3 hours of labor!
