Brake rotors warped / Pad ?

Hi Everyone:
New to the forum. I have a 328xi 2011 sedan (non sport or M). I have 50K miles on it and the front rotors are warped (the shaking when braking is out of control). I am planning on replacing them with Zimmerman rotors (used them in the past when I had an X5 loved them!) and either Textar or Brembo pads.

My question: Pads are still within specs, should I replace them while I am at it (not sure if the wear is uneven due to the warping), or replacing the rotors should do it. Also anyone has experienced warped rotors at this mileage (my driving is very conservative, back roads almost never in highway and I do not brake hard and there is no light indicating pad wear yet)

Also if you guys have any other suggestions on pads I highly appreciate it (I don't care much for dust etc, just something that is as close as possible to OEM without the price).

Thanks in advance for your responses.
Paul

Why don't you try re-bedding the pads 1st? Check out Tire Rack's website.

I have a 2011 335i with 55K and warped rotors. I only notice it when braking hard at high speeds tho. I will be replacing pads and rotors in the next 5-10k

I guess we are on the same page, same here braking from lets say 60mph..
Will be doing the same soon, do you happen to know the torque values for all the bolts that are required for this job? I am looking and searching on the forum, all I've found so far are for the X3. I suspect they are very similar if not same as for the 3 series

I trust you when you say rotors're warped, but shouldn't we verify? To eliminate brake compound deposits from your equation, emery cloth the rotors, or use this handy tool!

So. How's yer pulse feel now?

Well..I have nothing to loose by cleaning the rotors until new ones arrive (better say I place the order this weekend). This shake happens when braking at over 50mph (sorry I did not mention on my first post). The rotors look like vinyl records not sure if this is an indication of sorts.

Well, to avoid alotta work that might not need doing, I recommend runout testing. Remember, bad bushings cause wobble too....

If ya do score new discs, I always say: corrosion inhibited.

Thanks for your feedback Calwater. Can bad bushings cause such a vibration only when braking?

Do you make sure your lugs nut are always torqued with a torque wrench when installed? Improper/Uneven torque will cause warped rotors. Also a simple runout gauge test will tell you for certain if the rotors are warped.

I had my tires rotated which allowed me to take a look at the rotors in detail. Time for new ones

Rotors are super rusted and had a lot of white deposits (maybe from salt in the winter?) cleaned all that and braking improved a bit but definitely new rotors and pads are in order
