F30 bumper hood gap

Hello everyone,

my car was in an accident a while ago and i had the front bumper, left headlight, left fender and some more things replaced..

the repair job wasn't 100% and that can be seen with the gap between the bumper and the hood,

as you can see in the pictures the bumper is sitting good on one side and the other there is a big gap.

does anyone know the cause of this? i tried adjusting the hood, and tried to loosen the screws and push the bumper upwards but nothing worked

i would really appreciate it if someone can help me get rid of this gap because it's annoying the **** out of me..

thanks.

One option is to bring in back to the shop to readjust, if not perfect ask for a new bumper(esp. if it is insurance direct shop with lifetime guarantee).

Yeah if it's not a quick fix that i can do at home i will take it back next week after i finish my exams

fully covered by insurance, plus the paint job is trash.. lots of dirt under the paint, even a hair too!!!! and they fkd up the paint job of the rest of the car , they returned it full of swirl marks, the paint was perfect before it went there, plus i'm seeing lots of paint chips everywhere on the bumper and the fender, the other Original fender is still in mint condition, no chips whatsoever.

I won't accept anything less than perfect on a car like this

It's a quick fix, that happened to me after hitting an animal and needed the front bumper cover repaired. Should be able to peel the weather strip that seals the hood back to reveal 10mm bolts. Loosen only the ones on that side it should only slide forward or backwards. Tighten it back up, rinse and repeat until you get desired results. Don't forget the weather strip afterwards.

You mean these two bolts? i tried doing the one on the far right and didnt seem to do anything

i was doing a little research now and read somewhere that its dependent on the headlight and that the headlight needs lifting up,
thoughts?

The easiest way may be to adjust the bumper, not the hood. There are a series of hex screws that hold the interior parts in place. Make sure they are tight. go to youtube and look up kies motorsports replacing a front grill.

Those were the bolts I was going to highlight. I hit a dog once and the bumper had to be replaced. When I picked it up I had the same issue.

i tried unscrewing the bolts, pushed the bumper and screwed them again and nothing happened, im 100% sure the problem is with the headlight's placement, because before the accident there used to be gap between the bumper and the headlight on the bottom side, now there isn't its sitting completely on the bumper, even air can't get through.

maybe you are talking about other bolts i dont know, i would appreciate it if you can provide me with pictures

By any chance is it the front plastic piece surrounding kidney grills that is the cause of the problem?
I recall when installing blacked out grills i had to adjust it few times to get it to align with hood.
