Fog Light Assembly Replacement

Good morning,

I can't find a whole lot of info on this, but from what I found it seems like I have to take the whole bumper off to replace the broken fog light? Also what's the P/N I need for the RH assembly shown? I have adaptive headlight, but I don't know if that bumper has the aero package.

RealOEM.com for part numbers. www.NewTIS.info for procedure.

Thanks, I can't find replacement of the assembly on TIS, just the bulb:

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...lamps/AliaHU09

From the diagarame, it seems like you have to remove the entire assembly to replace the bulb. I'm assuming screws (2)secure the entire assembly and not just a bulb retainer.

More info here.

It might be easiest to remove the plastic under shielding. Lots of small screws, but will give you easy access to the housing area on either side of the car.
Should be three screws to remove the lamp.

Interesting it specifically says "w/o Adaptive Headlights". Are the fog lights adaptive as well ? I didn't realize that the fogs had anything to do with the headlights.

The fog lights come on individually when you turn the steering wheel to light up the corner.

+1

Milady Wife can't see the headlights adapt around the corner or the fog light light up the corner. Notice the assymetrical reflector internal to the fog light housing.

Silly question, which bumper do I have? The parts website doesn't show that even when I enter the VIN.

I'm not familiar with the X1, but if it's the same part as the X3, there is a small metal tab on top of the light, if you depress it with a screwdriver you should be able to slide the whole lamp out the front.

Still wondering which bumper I have. I thought it was the base bumper without the aero package, but realOEM is not confirming that.

As 87bimmerguy said... you just need to get a thin screwdriver and push the tab on the top and the foglight will come out. I just went online amazon to buy myself a replacement foglight. The exact same one my wife broke (got hit by some random rock).

FWIW, I have the same bumper on my X1 (from what I can tell from your pic), and I do not have the aero package either.
