Manual override for F33 hard top convertible

Hi all, not sure if I am in the right place or if this thread will help me, first time using bimmerfest...I have a 420d (F33) convertible and the damn roof won't come down...and it's almost summer

Does anyone happen to know how I can manually take the roof down. I assume it must be a sensor as I have checked all fuses and none are blown...I managed to get to the battery and unplug it for a while as someone suggested that may reset it...but no luck!

The car senses if the boot storage tray isnt down so the process seems to start but if the storage tray is down....nothing!

There are no warnings or errors occurring but i do randomly get the "convertible roof not latched" sign come up when I am driving although it disappears after a few seconds.

I am super reluctant to take it to a dealership or specialist as they all want payment by the hour and we all know it will take them days if they get paid that way!

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!

Welcome to Bimmerfest

I moved your posting to the F30/31/32/33/34/36 forum so you can get some model-specific help.

No manual over ride that I know of. Be sure to check the salmon relays. they are a known weak point. Good luck. N4S

Are you sure that the two side bins, on either side of the storage treat are EMPTY?

Under the trunk floor. They are salmon in color, can't miss them. On my E93 I replaced them as a precaution. I will likely do the same on this car. The E93 had a metal plate that had to be removed covering them. The F33 just pull up the floor panel. Good luck.
