F30 window incremental roll up/down

Its a 2012 328i F30 BMW. The problem is every time i roll the window up or down it only moves in 1/2" increments. I have tried resetting the window (rolling it down, holding button, rolling up, holding button). I have also pulled the door panel off and replaced the motor driver/window regulator combo and I am still having the exact same issue (note that both were tested side by side, while not installed. This means they were not seated in the door or holding up the window so it can't be an issue with the window track). Any ideas what other issues could be causing this?

The window switches on my car have two positions. Pull up slightly to the detent and hold to move the window as far as needed. Pull up fully past a detent and the window moves all the way. I believe your window switches should work like that. If not you may have a defective switch.

John, both positions result in the window moving only 1/2" up. Unless both the drive switch and seat controlled switch are faulty it cant be the switch because the both result in the window moving the same amount.

I wonder if an overload relay is being triggered. Window dragging in the track...

To OP, does this happen on all 4 windows, so just specific one(s)?

Namelessman, it only happens to the one window.
John, two separate motor drivers completely detached from the window (just the motor by itself) still only move incrementally which means the track isn't affecting the motor performance.

Do you have a wiring diagram for the window?

So you already replaced the effected window motor?. try bringing the window all the way down, hold it in down position for 20 seconds then reinitializing it. I had an e90 that did same thing your experiencing and the internal hall effect sensor in the window motor was faulty
