The next generation G11/G12 BMW 7 Series flagship forum. Unveiled June 10th, with production starting in August the 6th generation 7 Series comes in a light weight package with extensive use of BMW i carbon fiber technology. The interior quality raises the bar with a touch screen and gesture controlled infotainment system. Exterior styling has been a sticking point with mixed reviews so far.

Help 740 or 750 need your input ..!please help me decide..!

Looking to buy a 2019 Bmw 7 series
The question I was wondering is if I'm using my car for work what's better the v6 or the v8.?? RWD.!
I don't drive really fast unless I have to beat a light.!! I drive like 100 miles a day..!!
I know the 740 has more mpg..!
But is it burning more gas if I'm pushing it harder if needed..!!
Or just go all out for the 750.!!
I work seven days a week I have 2007 Bmw 750 so I have to fill up twice per week..!!
Many thanks for your info or help..!!

If gasoline costs are an issue, you almost have to go with the 740 as the MPG on that model is much better.
That being said, if you purchased the 750 (and put your right foot into it), I guarantee you wouldn't regret it...
I know, not much help was it??

I have a 2019 740i and have been averaging 25.3 mpg compared to 20.2 from my prior 2014 750 Li. I find the six to be a lovely engine, smooth and reasonably powerful. Obviously the 750i will be quicker, but in daily driving I don't find the 740i lacking in either take off or passing power. Suggest you test drive both extensively before deciding. BTW, the 740 is an inline 6 not a V6. My friend has a 2006 750 which I drove the other day, and I can confirm the current 740 is a quicker car!

Dude go big or get a Prius. No one drives these beasts for gas mileage. If your not getting 750 why get a 7? I know it's extreme but I'm serious..

Thanks for all your input ..!!!
I live in. New York City so it's 25 mph on streets and mini highways.!
Zero tolerance..!!
I guess if I get the 740 inline 6 I'll have like 100 miles extra per week after two full up...Which is alittle less than a days work of miles.!!
I guess I'm gonna rent out both and use it for a week from the exotic rental shop and go from there..!!
My 2007 750 is almost 13 years old so gas is deff not good cause of maybe the gas filters and things like thanks.!!!

I get better than 25 mpg on highway trips with 750. IMHO, if you are getting a 7, it is either the 750 for full enjoyment or the 745 with hybrid for max gas mileage. But worrying about gas mileage should lead to something else anyhow.

If you live and drive in NYC youíre not going to get 25mpg with the 740. Stop and go traffic is the enemy of fuel economy.

I average about 15mpg with my 2019 750 and thatís with about 85% city driving in Chicago. I also beat every single car Iíve ever met at a stop light, something that wonít be possible with the 740.

I wold honestly say get a 740. the difference in power really isnt that noticeable maybe 0.8 seconds faster to 60 but in my honest opinion I think the 740 sounds way better than the 750 tbh and you get better gas mileage along with an overall cheaper price so you can get some extra options. A 740 is a great overall choice and it still has got some kick, itll put any ordinary car to shame whilst returning a great mpg for the size

Youíre entitled to your opinion, but to say that the 740ís inline 6 sounds better than my 4.4 V8 with the M-Sport exhaust is kinda ridiculous and youíll struggle to find anyone to agree with you.

the m sport exhaust is a completely different animal mate and of course it sounds better but stock 740 vs stock 750, the 750 is just a little too quiet for a v8 in my opinion as stock

Reliability wise get 740, MPG wise get 740, MSRP wise get 740 if you're red light racer get Tesla P100D.

I grabbed a 2016 CPO 740i over the summer. It was the first used car I've every purchased and so far very happy with it. The newer 740 should be a great upgrade from the current car and do you well. Keep an eye out for a loaded CPO car they go for less than half MSRP with warranty, less than 25k miles, and you'll be hard pressed to tell it's used without a magnifier.

The V8 is a beast and so addictive. I love its sound and power it delivers. I. personally could not go back to a V6. I have already chosen the dark side
At the end to each its own
