Main point of interest here is HOW does a guy who's surname is Mustafa take an explosive belt or vest on to a plane....
Passing through Cairo airport, in Egypt a couple of years ago, I remember how amazed I was having noticed the lack of interest the security official at the scanning belt had, in looking at the monitor. It's also well known that at least until recently they were notoriously susceptible to bribes...

Latest news indicates he stuffed cell phone cases under his shirt so that it looked like he had blocks of C4. Turned out to be totally fake so that explains why he got through security, he didn't have an explosive vest/belt. Not quite certain how this gets back at his ex-wife, which was supposedly his motivation.

^^^He's a Egyptian national and initially it seemed like he got on a plane to get in touch with his exwife (Cypriot),.. Something most of us would avoid... :ROFL :ROFL....
Then when the plane landed he began changing his demands asking for female prisoners in Egypt to be released and demanded to speak to a European high profile representative... At some point during the saga, towards lunchtime it seemed liked things were really beginning to get serious when patrons at restaurants near the airport were being evacuated.... HERE that's unheard of...lol!

After the initial release of hostages the last few were released just before lunch after several hours of negotiations, the hijacker gave up and the pilot climbed out of the window for DRAMATIC EFFECT.... Lol!
All was done and dusted in time for a late lunch, the SWAT TEAM were called off and we all had a laugh on international television when our president was asked during the press conference while the crisis was still in full swing, if there was a woman (exwife) involved in the situation, to which he responded "in unfortunate circumstances.,there's always a woman involved"....
...NICE ONE.

It's good to see the OT OG's still here! I never log on anymore.

I've been on a kick for go-fast-machines with 2 wheels. What are the rest of you up to?

James! What's up?! Glad to see that you've still got the itch for go-fast stuff.

I've been pushing the E36 at the track, which now has a roll bar, fixed race buckets, 6-pt harnesses, StopTech BBK (installing on Saturday), LSD, and so on. Being asked to think about becoming a BMWCCA HPDE instructor, so I imagine it'll be a fun and demanding track season ahead. Just got some more go-fast goodies in the mail today...

A picture requested by a passenger to be taken yesterday with his hostage taker by a member of the cabin crew none the less, surely qualifies for a group :ROFL!!!

That you on the bike in the photo? Me, just been up to the usual life stuff.

Trying to autocross as much as possible and the occasional PDX. Have a short course PDX coming up at Daytona on 4/9 and a full road course PDX at Daytona on 5/6.

I went on a lot of reading after posting, I only find good things about the duramax and Allison 1000 6 spd auto tranny.

It's the newer style, build date 04/2007

Yeah, the other side has no damage, everything looked pretty dry under the engine and chassis looks undamaged, going back to check on the engine.

I forgot you got a Chevy recently.

Check the frame fuel and brake lines for rust. If it's there, walk away from it.

Yeah but I've always had a chevy truck. I started with a 94 1500, then a 99 s10, an 01 duramax, and now my 03 duramax.

Hey Matt, have you seen this yet? I don't care for how either car looks, but that you can even mention a regular Camaro SS in the same sentence as the BMW M4 is pretty hilarious. BMW ///M division doesn't get it. They need to start taking notes from Porsche...

Yeah, breaking in the race pads is going to be interesting. The instructions say to do around 14-15 near-ABS stops from 100-10mph in rapid succession, then let them cool off and do another full cycle at least.

Don't know how exactly I'm going to accomplish that. Racecar problems, I guess.

I foresee a car trailer in your future. You're about a half-step away from that being a dedicated track car.

Nuthin wrong with that!

Did anyone see the new announcement at the top of the forum? Apparently they are trying to beat the world record for largest BMW parade, but they are only using the stupid i cars. So to beat a world record about shear volume of cars they are limiting themself to one of the lowest available BMWs . Also I think the record might be bogus because they said that they only need 179 cars to get the record. We should tell Genius about Bimmer Fest because I am pretty sure the line to get in/out beats that record every year.
