How remove fog lamp?

Mrs. Lee's 2014 X1 has a busted fog light lens on the driver's side. No Youtube video I found shows anything close to how her fog lights are mounted. Some videos say to just insert a flat tip screwdriver above the lens and it pops out. Not at all on this car. What does the screw in the one hole at around 10 o'clock do? Adjust aiming or release fog light housing? I can't see anything or feel much by removing the small plastic cover inside the wheel well. I will probably have to remove the wheel to get better access. Does this job require removing the whole plastic wheel well liner? I can't believe it's this involved.

And I've also seen on some sites that for BMW fog lights, the driver's side is considered the right side. Catalogues list them as left or right, not driver or passenger. This is US-spec, lefthand driver side. Do I order left or right fog light? Thanks.

I replaced my fog lamp a few years ago.
Thread here.

Easiest method is to remove the plastic panel underneath the front end and gain access that way.
Yes, the little hole is for adjustment.
I believe left would be drivers side, but maybe double check with part number.
