First Mod for 428i Gran Coupe

Just bought a 2016 428i Gran Coupe xDrive and want to add some performance parts. I have looked into injen short ram intakes as well as aFe cold air intakes. What are people's thoughts on those. Also, for exhaust, I have looked a AWE exhaust systems and fi exhaust system.

Any and all thought about what to do first and what product/brand would be helpful.

intakes make nice swoosh swoosh sounds but arguably little to no performance improvements

AWE exhaust is great and sounds great.

1st - simple dinan sports/JB+ will give you an easy 20-30 bhp for best bang for your buck

personally i'd do FMIC first so you don't heat soak when you do frequent pulls but it's expensive and it really only shines with a stage 2 tune

Best bang for your buck is a stage 1 from BMS don't waste your money on anything else.

What is your opinion on JB4 or aFe scrocher GT over the BMS stage 1? they all show large gains on dyno tests. Have you used any of these other than the BMS?

In my decision-making process, it came down to a question of future mods. JB4 is great if one is looking to upgrade an intercooler and/or add a downpipe. I am not planning those mods, so I went with Stage 1.

Beyond Burger and Dinan, I have not see much written about aFe, Active Autowerke, or any of the other tunes out there. Yes, they will all make power, but how safely are they doing it.

Your best bang for buck mod is getting a tuner.

Does anyone know why there is such a large price difference between the Burger Stage 1 and the Dinan Stage 1 Tuner? The Dinan is about 4x as expensive.

I've read many reviews but BMS is really easy to install and take off.

Some of Dinan upgrades are approved by BMW but you pay for that, Are you planning on doing more upgrades? That is the question....
