Tail lights UPGRADE E39 1998

Much has been said about tail lights and I think I've read every topic on it.
Looks like the only sure bet is going with Hellas. However I stumbled upon great looking tail lights with excellent reviews!
I also like the way they look better than Hella.
Has anyone tried them?
I haven't seen anyone talk about them.

The reviews on Amazon for the Spyders aren't so great, reread them.

With any aftermarket replacements, use clear RTV and seal where the lense is bonded to the housing before you install.

Personally if the car is a keeper, find a good set of OEM and you can sand and polish the lenses back to new. Just takes time and patience and you find out how much you love your BMW.

For the pre-face-lift e39's, I am a fan of buying aftermarket white/red taillights (along with white side markers and headlight covers with white/clear corners) to get the pre-facelift (<'01) E39's to look like the post face-lift cars. I really like taking all the yellow off the car..

Keep your originals though and use care in installing the tail lights. They are generally pretty cheaply made. Sealing them as noted above is a good idea.

Can I get you to reconsider the smoke color? It's certainly personally preference, but I have yet to see a set of lights in smoke look good. White/clear looks great.

The only people who wrote bad reviews are those who bought the wrong tail lights. Those people who gave bad reviews bought the lights for post facelift cars while the lights are made for pre facelift.
My originals are in great condition but being pre facelift they're orange.
I could reconsider to go with untinted but just look how much more slick, aggressive, sharp and overall badass the dark ones look.
Especially since the car is black and I'm tinting it to black windows today.

Would tinted tail lights be legal? Police might not like that.

Another plea here to reconsider smoking the tails. For lack of better words, itís kind of ghetto. I totally get wanting the cleaner facelift look, but keep the German E39 classic. Keep the smoked tails for the Japanese street racers with coffee can exhaust.
