35d Tensioner and Bolt

What is the deal with the 35d tensioner and bolt?

Got my airbag recall done a couple weeks ago, the complimentary inspection suggested that I replace my tensioner. (no mention of my leaking turbo feed line??)
The two times Ive had my serp belt off (1k ago most recently), I did not notice anything unusual.
I've heard that it is a problem area and a recall around it, and some people have broken bolts, but I am not able to find any real info... (seems like search function on this site not working?)

Thanks

I recall something about that bolt recall, I see it on my 12"s history. The bolts heads where breaking off. Not sure if its includes your model year.

Did your squeak come back.

Just churning for service dollars. A standard recommendation, IMO. Id be willing to bet there is no symptom that they found that is triggering that recommendation

OE is Original Equipment aka 'BMW Original Parts' aka 'What you buy at the BMW dealer with a BMW label'

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer... EITHER the company that made the OE part or.... A part this is identical to the OE part, but is sold by the OEM under their own label

OEM is not what BMW sells

SI B11 11 12 Replace Hex Bolt With Internal Thread For Deflection Pulley M57Y Engine

OP - attached is the recall notice . . . mine (2011MY, June 2010 build) needed it, was done at no cost to me.

I never got the letter, but when I went in for routine paid engine oil service, the key fob history showed this service needed to be performed.

This campaign covers M57Y engine built between Sept 2008 and Nov 2012.
