DSC Control/Hydraulic Unit Help

Hello All,
Hello, I have a 2003 BMW X5 E53 3.0. I had a code Steering Angle Sensor fault. I replaced the sensor but it would not calibrate. I ended up having to bring the car to a BMW dealer for the recall to replace the airbag and asked them to calibrate it. After checking it they told me it will not calibrate because another code was coming up - DSC Inlet Valve Rear Right. They said I need to replace the DSC Hydraulic Unit and the DSC Control Unit. Is there a way to tell if the problem is the control unit, the hydraulic unit, or both?
Thank you.

Get a second opinio. Don't fix what ain't broke lest you fix until broke.
