Drag Strip Details

Organizers,

When will details be released regarding the drag strip?

Will it be reserved for this event only (and not the public)?

What format will it be run in? And what rules will be used? And at what cost?

We need to know the details sooner than later to get it on our calendar and get some of the fast guys out.

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

Thanks for posting the information gathered so far. Here are some comments:

The 15.50 mark is, in my opinion, not the best split. Factor that even the most base models should perform at less than 14 seconds. I recommend going with a 13.50 split to better balance the groups.

There is no mention to how the racing will be setup. Will it be bracket racing? Will it be heads up racing? Elimination? Or will it simply be a test and tune setup? Additionally, if it is competitive, are you setup to no show times for the two shakedown runs?

Also, what safety rules will be used? Helmets required 12.99 or less? What other guidelines?

One final question: what is the refund policy in event of precipitation?

Best,

Jonathan

Thanks for all the constructive feedback! I've been working to adjust what we're offering based on the feedback I've gotten here and elsewhere. We've adjusted the brackets and added a heads up class. Take a look -

Hi Tim,

That's a good start but I think it needs a bunch more information.

The most important question is how refunds will be handled in the event of a rainout. It's going to be hard to get people to pay up front without a guarantee of refund if they can't run. I know that we will have at least two prepaid registrations if that is sorted and language is added.

Best,

Jonathan

I added rain refund policy info here -

https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=858170

Take a look and let me know if that isn't clear. If we're missing other info let me know and I'll work on that as well. This is our first year offering drag racing so we're learning as we go.

Thanks,
Tim
