Garage door opener

I have moved into a new house and want to re-program the integrated universal remote control in my 2010 335i. I was able to clear the old pairings (I think), but cannot bet the new hand-held transmitter to pair with the integrated remote in the car. Any suggestions?

Check the type of interface the garage door opener has. The integrated opener only works with HomeLink garage door opener. I hit this issue when I moved. One garage door is HomeLink and the other is a newer protocol/interface that isn't compatible.

Thanks for your reply. I think you're right, that the hand-held remote is not HomeLink, and changes the code with each use. BUT, it easily programmed with my wife's 2014 Lexus and works fine. I did the simple pairing on that car, so it doesn't make sense that it would act one way on one car and differently on another.

I just bought a Gene and it worked flawlessly. New openers have rolling code pair buttons that have to be pressed besides aiming the remote at your rear view mirror.

I had the same issue a couple of years ago when I moved into my new house. Apparently there is some kind of translater that can plug into the wall in your garage and our car will communicate with that, but I never looked that far into it and just use the actual remote that comes with the garage door.

What color is the antenna on your garage door opener? If it's yellow it may not be compatible. Ran into this when I upgraded the mirror in the X3. This works with other garage doors and might be worth looking into. I found in on amazon for about 25.

Buy BT adapter on amazon for $40 and use your smartphone to open garage. This way you can open garage even when you returning from bike ride ...
