Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms. BMWFS acquisition fee is $725

Lease Payment Calculation Formula:
(Cap Cost – Residual Value) / Term = Depreciation
(Cap Cost + Residual Value) X Base Rate = Interest
Depreciation + Interest = Base Monthly Payment

Terms Used in Lease Formula:
CAP COST = Vehicle Purchase Price (amount financed)
RESIDUAL VALUE = MSRP (window sticker) X Residual %
TERM = Length of Lease in Months (3 years = 36 months)
BASE RATE = Dealer’s Buy Rate (dealer can mark this up for profit)

NOTE: The manufacturer (captive) lease programs provided are for reference only. Base Rates may vary by region. Your dealer has the option of offering you a higher rate.

Thank you!

Question: For vehicles that are switching over to MY 2012 production in April, above rates would not apply if we place order in March?

Big residual jump

Looks like the residual on 328 sedans 36 month jumped from 57-61. That's really substantial. Can you confirm this?

Also, edmunds is reporting a $750 (http://www.edmunds.com/bmw/3-series/...tyle=101288737). Will this reduce the net capitalized cost?

If you place an order today for an X5, regardless of year, it's at this rate.

Um... no. What give you that idea?

This rate is for a 2011 model. These rates would not apply to any leftover 2010 models or any orders for 2012 models.

That is NOT correct. 2011 X5 March Lease Program only applies to 2011 X5.

Well, I ordered an X5 in late February and I'm getting the February rate despite my X5 build being a 2012. So, it's true for some people at least.

Really? Are you sure it's going to be a 2012? When is it going into production? I would imagine it to be a March production if you ordered it in February. My understanding is that MY 2012 production doesn't start until April.

you're in for a surprise when your car shows up and you don't get that rate.

I just did the math and the payment ends up the same (OK, $2 lower!) as when I picked mine up in December. I got into a 36 month/12k at 59%/.00125 - same terms in March would be 63%/.00190.

So the better residual seems to be offset by the higher money factor when compared to December-January-February deals...

It's a confirmed 2012 build.

Or I'll just get my deposit back and head on over to get an ML350. But that won't be happening because the dealer, if he has to, will just take a hit on the negotiated cap cost. It matters not to me what the cap cost or the money factor is, so long as the payment comes out to what we negotiated.

Hi everyone..i have done this many times...lease when the MY is in transition. the way it works is the dealer sets the contract deal based on the ORDER month even if there is a MY change when the vehicle comes in. The vehicle price is the driving factor..for example I just ordered a MY 2012 X6 5.0 in Feb...with early April Delivery. Produciton week is 14..April 4.

The 2012 pricing is DIFFERENT than 2011 pricing (packages / options are bundled and priced differently) and the deal you have with your CA should have the price & cap cost o of the vechicle documented. that stays fixed for the deal.

When the vehicle arrives (April for example), and the lease programs are better in April , for example, than when ordered in Feb, they will give you the better program....but the vehicle price and cap cost will NOT change. If the programs are higher in April, you get the Feb. lower rates. BMW protects financing for 60 days from order date...and offers the lower of the programs when the vehicle comes in.

BMW plays with residual % and Money factors every month..usually they flex one up and the other down...so assuming the vehicle cap cost is the same, the monthly payment will be basically the same.

Guys, my personal experience is that MY 2011 and 2012 numbers are different for a March purchase. See the example below.

2011 BMW X6 xDrive35i Crossover Lease (as listed above)
36 Month – Residual 57% of MSRP – ADD 3% to residual for 10K = 60%
.00175 Base Rate

2012 BMW X6 xDrive35i Crossover Lease (confirmed from multiple area dealerships)
36 month - Residual 61% of MSRP for 10K miles ** 1% increase over MY2011
.00200 Base Rate - .00170 for loyalty customers **.00025 increase over MY2011

Resulting payment will will be very similar (likely within $5-$7/mo) between a similarly priced 2011 and 2012.

Just ordered a 2012 X5 from my dealer. He told me the following:

2012 X5 35i Premium 36 month/15,000 miles per year, residual 57%, .00185 base rate
2012 X5 35i Sport Activity 36 month/15,000 miles per year, residual 58%, .00200 base rate

Assuming all else being equal, on a $60k car, this amounts to about a $10 increase in monthly payment. Pretty much negligible.

2011 740LI Lease MF?

I was quoted .00200 MF on a 2011 740LI lease of 36 months? The rate sheet for March 2011 shows .00160 for a 36 month lease and .00200 for a 48 or 60 month. Are they overcharging me for the MF? Also they quoted ACQ fee of $925? Shouldnt this be $725. Also can I waive the doc fee of $155 and Gov fee of $139? They also quoted 55% residual for 10K miles per year. If I wanted to do 12K, this residual would go up to 54%, correct?

With the $3185 option credit and $2000 buy out cash ($5185 in credits) that bmwfs is offering along with factoring in 10% depriciation of the 2011 cars on lot, what would be a great deal (cap cost) on this car? My guess would be $1500 - $2000 below in invoice?

Lastly do you recommend putting down MSD's? to lower monthly payment. You do get that back if you do it at end of lease term and if you only put down one SD, do they use that as your last payment automatically?

Thank you. Appreciate your help.

April 2011 Lease Rates

Hello everyone,

Long time reader, first time poster!

I want to lease a 2011 550i, but I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger this month or wait until April.

I'm thinking that if I wait, I should be able to negotiate a better price with the 2012 models coming soon. However, I'm not sure how the lease rates are going to change.

I've been watching local dealer inventory, I get the impression that the 550i is not selling that well...

Thank you in advance for your help..

At least get qualified and lock into March rates, in case April is worse. You will then have a lock for 60 days, whatever month is better you get when you buy.

RE:"I get the impression that the 550i is not selling that well.."..There are 86 MY 2011 550i in various configurations on dealer's lots in California. Should a dealer have one in inventory, I would imagine he would want to get rid of a $75k paperweight if the chance arose
