6.5 to 8.8 upgrade blank after coding
I bought 65509292248 8.8" screen and attempted to upgrade the 6.5 in my 2018 330i. Installed the screen and coded and screen is blank. In ESYS I have HU_ENTRYNAV2 listed and found the lines below. My 330 has 6.5" screen and NO NAV. Also, when I first connect the 8.8" screen I get a Red "No Signal" message and then it turns Green and then disappears.
3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display I'm wondering if my screen I bought isn't compatible...maybe I need the touch screen version? I've looked over other threads about this upgrade and it seems straight forward; install screen and code. What am I missing?? Wits end!

Hi, thanks, I tried that and still didn't work. I might just have a bad screen. I set back to the orig settings and installed my 6.5" and it does still work.

Hello!
Sure that you bought an Apix2 8,8" display and that you have the right Apix cable? CU Oliver

Nothing on the auction mentions Apix and I didn't buy a new cable. The threads I had read about the upgrade didn't say you needed a new cable. I don't know how to tell if the display is APIX2.
Thanks

Hello!
To be clear to own an Apix2 display you have to check the BMW part number. If the display is built in you can code the HU to Apix1 (three codings) to check whether it's Apix1 or not. I hope you have no NBT 8,8" display. Those displays are heavier than the Evo displays. The voltage is different to the Evo displays and it will not work without a voltage regulator. Normally you should have the right cable. A newcable is only needing in some special cases (retrofit also a new HU or something else). CU Oliver

Ok I found the coding for APIX 1. Tried it and same thing - thinking it's the voltage now. Have found a thread on cartechnology.co.uk that talks about this. So it sounds like I need a voltage regulator or look for a diff CID.
CID_APIX_MODE = APIX1 CID_COLOR DEPTH = 18 CID_COM_MODE = SPI CID_DISPLAY_RES = 1280_480 CID_DISPLAY_SIZE = 8,8

Hello!
So check the part number of the display. As I said, NBT displays are heavier than Evo displays. But if you have no reference it would be not so easy. ![]() CU Oliver
