Phil, I just asked my dealer for the printout after programming. They are supposed to hand it to you as there is the "For Customer" statement on my copy. I wonder what other information they keep to themselves on the "Not for customer" copy

The BMW software and service process documentation are all very tedious. The servicing dealer did NOT provide the software documentation to me. And I had to provide a reference SIB (some kind of service bulletin) and a command directive to make it so. I'm still trying to understand why you have to complain to get BMW to keep this rolling iPad's software updated.

ISTA is apparently some kind of software version acronym based on the BMW computer network - ISIS. You need to demand the ISIS output hard copy at point of service or the software documentation goes somewhere the sun don't shine. Maybe someone could point this old carburetor man at the FAQ on how to manage my computer-controlled ride?

Isn't it great driving a computer that has been released before they have worked the bugs out, and leave it up to the consumer to deal with the beta version anomalies? By the time you have all the problems worked out, it's time to trade it in on another one and start all over.

I had my car updated with the latest software for my 2011 535i, the paperwork says that it was updated to version F010 13-11-504, which is the most recent version of ISTA/P software at this date P2.51.3.

But when I export the profile on my car to USB, it still shows this (as it did before, which is not even an accurate ISTA/P number, and others in this thread reported that their cars showed this in their export files the end of 2012 and beginning of 2013:

2014-03-17T18:30:47

(------)
C605470
F001-12-07-520

Is it possible there is just a bug in what integration level gets sent out the export file? I have no reason to doubt the dealership updated my software to the level reported. But the i-step has never changed what it is reporting (and clearly F001 would be wrong for an F10 535i, built Aug. 2010).

Essentially that F001-12-07-520 is all that has ever shown via the Profiles, even through multiple software updates. Just didn't know if anyone had any info on this, or if it was confirmed that certain cars don't ever report the i-step accurately via the profiles.

Thanks,

Kev

The Profile Export I-Step is incorrect, and always has been. The only way to know is to read VCM with E-Sys.

And the latest L-Level is actually F010-14-03-502, which is ISTA/P 52.1. Your dealer just hasn't updated yet

OK, I assumed the i-step in the profile was just bogus.

52.1? Haha, well, this was still a 20 month update for the car's software, so not complaining.

Thanks!

Kev

The dealer reprogrammed (if that's the right word) my 528i again on Monday. Based on the receipt it's hard tell exactly what they did. The SA said it took them 8 hours to reprogram the computer. This is the third time in almost three years that they've tried to fix the tip-in problem. So far so good . . .

What dealer did you go to in Houston. I'm also in Houston and normally get service completed at BMW of Houston North. I think my 2011 528i needs an update as I still have the delay.

Advantage BMW in midtown. Luckily, they drove my car around with me until they experienced the problem.

Is SI B12 17 12 stated fix ISTA / P 2.48.1 for delay in engine response, still the most current software update for this issue?
I have a 2011 528i with N52T motor.

I have a 2011 528i. I don't know where I'm as far as Integration Level but I but any of the updates I've had installed are short lived and never really eliminate the problem.
