Green indicator on shift knob goes out

I just had the DME replaced on my 2014 528i at the dealer and noticed when i drove the car home the green shift knob indicator light went out after putting it in reverse and wouldn't come back on. When I turn car off and start again it is on again, but once I start changing from D to R it goes out.

Not sure what would cause this and if it would have anything to do with work that was just done to car or a coincidence?

You’re still in warranty? I say back to the dealer it goes. Especially since you can reproduce the fault.

Did your dealer ever give you the reason and a solution to the green light shifter lights going out? How was it corrected? I am experiencing the same problem.
