MY 2017 F48 BMW X1 Pricing & Ordering Guides - Now with sDrive

2017 bmw x1 pricing

The 2017 BMW X1 Sports Activity Vehicle

We've got the 2017 X1 ordering and pricing guides for you, now with sDrive as an option!

Now in its second generation, the BMW X1 builds on the success of its predecessor (61,974 sold in the US to date) by incorporating a roomier interior, greater efficiency and technology on the forefront of innovation. The second generation takes to the stage with a body design typical of a BMW Sports Activity Vehicle. The BMW X1 xDrive28i will be the exclusive model in the US at launch featuring a 2.0-liter TwinTurbo 4-cylinder engine from BMW's new family of modular engines with maximum output of 228 horsepower, making the all new BMW X1 the most powerful entry model in the segment. It will be mounted to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. An efficiency-optimized version of the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system and newly developed chassis technology all help to enhance sporting ability and ride comfort compared to the outgoing model. The all new BMW X1 also showcases its exceptional versatility with increased cargo area and greater interior room with more headroom than before.

Bummer that 2017 still has no blind spot detection and active cruise still removes heated steering wheel from cold weather package. REDICULOUS.
Sport seats are now a standalone option.

I assume the pricing list is base-MSRP and invoice is about .92x these prices.

Yea, I was really hoping to see blind spot assistance and a radar based ACC like the X3 that can actually bring the vehicle to a full stop before a crash. It's a shame, but the X1 is still the best choice for me I think. Maybe I can even get lucky and find a 2016 model with the exact config I wanted for less than a special order 2017.

I have radar based active cruise control on my 340 and it is one of those features that you do not need, until you have it. I find that I use it all the time which would never happen with regular cruise control. In spite of my disappointment with the blind spot detection and the ACC deleting the heated steering, I have notified my CA to request a late August ED minus the ACC.
I have also ordered the sport seats without the Msport package. The Msport suspension was standard on the 2016 but in 2017 is part of the Msport package. I am wondering if that is a contributing factor in the jittery ride mentioned in virtually all the reviews.

Yea, if I could get ACC with the heated steering wheel, I probably would, but my daily commute is under 15 minutes and in the winters the heated wheel would be great. I'd probably only use ACC 6 times a year tops, but I know I'd have that heated steering wheel on for 100 or so days a year to and from work. It's just not something I'd pay $950 extra for on top of missing out on something I'd otherwise use very regularly. I'll just have to suffer and use normal cruise control for those longer trips.

The suspension is an interesting change, but a bit of a moot point, since my heart is set on an Estoril Blue exterior. It would otherwise be something I'd really have to think about.

The RWD & sport seat stand alone option would save me $4k over the 2016 and substantially increases the likelihood of me buying an X1.

It is absurd that BMW does not include a backup camera standard. Seriously it's standard on a Kia Rio.

The backup camera is standard on the 2016 X1 as explained to me by the BMW product genius...

Wow then that is absurd! Even the non-inclusion of blind side mirror even as an option...

Pretty sure the sDrive model will be FWD not RWD since it's based on the Mini platform.

Yes, my bad. Still I think I prefer the lower weight compared to the AWD and BMW has shown with the Mini that they can make a FWD car that handles well and is fun to drive. I drove the 2016 earlier this week and was really pleasantly surprised at how well it drove compared to the E84.

This is correct.... S-drive was available in Australia last year, and this article mentions that it is FWD, instead of the prior platform's RWD setup...

It looks like the MSRP is up $300, and metallic paint is now $700 instead of $550. Do you guys have an updated pricing guide?

This is the funny part. I know there are still changing and adding things but this is very careless.
