Dawn vs Mothers California Gold Car Wash

I've been using Dawn to wash all my cars, including jet black 330i (sold) and Porsche Turbo it works. Sure, it removes wax, just like all other cleaner, unless you falsely think otherwise. All detailers do not think too highly of Turtle Wax either even though it may be the best selling wax for consumers like me. I've been using this combination since I owned cars.

Do you know Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is one of the more common cleaning agents in Dawn? It is a very effective cleaning agent that produces a good lather when mixed with water. It is also found Mothers California Gold Car Wash. So, what is so great about Mothers? Is it just diluted Dawn? Both are pH balanced.

Dawn is used to remove wax from cars. Not everyone wants to do that when they wash their car ( I don't). Why not just use a car wash soap like Meguiar's or Griot's?

No, Mother's is not just diluted Dawn. Dawn is a more complex product a dozen and a half ingredients of various concentrations and significances.

I did not find a Meguiar's product titled 'soap'. Soap is a saponified fat or oil with detergent surfactant properties.

I also did not find a Griot's product called a 'soap'. their product number 11102 contains Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

Sorry, I used the word "soap" in a generic form. I guess I should have called it a "car wash liquid". I find these "liquids" to be mild and "slippery", thus minimizing scratches to the paint.

A soap of saponified fatty oil is mild and slippery. A soap has surfactant detergent properties but is made a particular way, by saponificaiton.

I've been using chemical guys citrus wash and clear and the nice part is the lubricity for grit that you can feel vs dawn when going over heavily soiled areas. Maybe it's the citrus oils degreasing and causing it.
