Sunday, 3-15-09 the ZSCCA (or IMZ4N, for us SoCal guys) organized a very special Z Meet at the Breakfast at Balboa car show in San Diego. What made it particularly special was that we were going to record what is possibly a world record photograph: the first that shows every Z model from the Z1 to the Z3 R, Z3 C, Z4 R, Z4 C and Z8. So aside from the usual fun of driving around and hanging out with other Z owners we also got to poke around one of only 4 Z1s in the US. Most of us had never seen a Z1 in person, so this was a real treat.
A special thanks to Sam for driving out his Z1 (yes, driving it!) and for being such a good sport with us asking him questions all the time.
To be notified of future ZSCCA events, PM IMZ4N.
Now to start the pics...
I left a half hour later than the OC caravan, but due to the superior cruising speed of my CFR500 I beat them to San Diego with enough spare time to drop by the pre-meet for the SD locals.
Driving from the pre-meet spot to the Z meet spot:
Rendezvousing with the other Z caravan before entering the show:
My first shot of the Z1:
My favorite shot of the Z1:
Two Z8s drove down from the bay area for this meet:
Then we all drove in together to the car show. I believe this picture might be the first to show all 6 Z models (Z1, Z3R, Z3C, Z4R, Z4C, Z8), taken at 6:62.54am.
