Trailer Hitch (To Mount Bike Rack)

Hi

Looking for a trailer hitch - prefer 1 1/4 to use exclusively to mount a bike rack to transport two mountain bikes. Any suggestion on a hitch that will fit a 6 series grand coupe. Thanks!

Be careful of the physics, of the mechanics involved.

I bought a bike rack for the Class I receiver on my Jetta and the builder cautioned me. He was right and I had to take extraordinary measures to keep from bending the receiver. The bikes made a lever arm about six feet long that extended up into the wind stream over the top of the Jetta. Force times length is moment and it was enough to cause significant strain - flexing.

Now I have the same rack on a Class III ten years later and I am about to rebuild it. I've ordered the replacement parts for a Draftmaster now carrying our recumbent trikes.

Roof rack might be the best way to go for that on a 6 series

Wondering how would you attach a roof rack to your 6? AFAIK there are no racks for F06/F12s.
