E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

635 roof problem

I know this is a frequent & variety of problems. There have been various postings which take some tracing.
I have had the strut 'Bosman' fix and have since replaced the sensor to great effect.
Yesterday I had another problem.
My roof stopped while closing with the front roof up, wings up, rear compartment open and the motors whirring. it wouldn't close or open.

The rear compartment closed once the ignition was switched off and I managed to push down the wings & roof which then locked with the close roof button, phew. I am not using the roof until I'm confident I know what the cause is.

Does anyone know what is causing the problem.
Since the motors did work I suspect its a lubrication problem or could it be another sensor!
Any help would be appreciated.
