Rough ride?

I purchased a 16 640 GC 6 months ago. I have had 5 series since 95 and expected the ride to be similar but a little stiffer due to less clearance. Worst riding car I ever had. Performance and handling were great, but the slightest road defect felt like I hot a 6 inch pot hole. The Flintstones had a smoother ride. I traded it back for a 17 540. Not as pretty, but much better ride ( and faster)

Did it have runflat tires? If yes, which brand and size...19" or 20"?

It's the runflats. Some brands will perform better than others IME, but non-runflats are a night & day improvement.

I moved from a 640i GC to an Alpina B6 which do not have run-flats. Get yourself an emergency tire repair kit and ditch the run-flats (you can wear them out first if you wish).

Michelin PS4s are the best tires I've ever owned.
