Don't let your friends know you have a trailer. They are going to ask you to help them move!!!

Nice!
Wasn’t sure if it was smoke or fog, but third picture answered.
Smoky further north.

We have a room at Yosemite Lodge next Monday Sept 10 thru 15 Sept Friday, with dinner reservations at The Majestic Awahnee one night and another at the Lodge Mountain Room. The only change to our itinerary due to the Ferguson Fire is our Grand Tour was cancelled.

I very much grew up in Yosemite, with a few minor climbs, a speaking acquaintance with Ansel Adams, and the more notorious climbers. I remember the rangers visiting our Camp 4 campfire and complaining about who drew the short straw and had to wear the gun the next day. As a child, our family favorite camp was Little Yosemite Creek. 2018 is the Fiftieth Anniversary of the last real Firefall on 25 January 1968. I walked the John Muir Trail 1 - 15 July, 1966 north to south.

I bought the Grand Aero mirrors from JR Products. I like them a lot. I can extend them to see down the side of our MicroLite 23LB trailer. Very stable and easy to install and remove. Easier to get than the factory trailer mirrors.

800-900 lbs ready for camping, but empty tanks. Around 30% is transferred between the front axle and trailer axles.

Yosemite is by far my favorite place in California, absolutely gorgeous. This was the first time with my 4.5 years old in the park and we managed to hike to the top of Vernal Fall.

Wow! Looking great and looks like you've been enjoying the X5 the last few years! Did the fuel filter I sent you and the clips work out?

I'd love to check out your tow setup on the X5 if you have time to meet up.

For those of you towing bigger trailers, have you added tranny or engine cooling. I often see 230 - 240 on my oil temp gauge pulling over steep mt passes. Am looking at getting a larger trailer than my 4000# dry. Closer to 5000# dry.

Hi Flying Ace, you are welcome to check on the setup. I believe the last time we tried to meet up I was in Half Moon Bay. This year I do not have any reservation between Bay Area and the City (Big Sur, Pismo Beach, Yosemite, Redwood NP, etc. - so nothing close to SF). Happy to show the setup in the storage place.

Do you ever monitor fluid temps, engine oil, transmission fluid, etc during your towing ?

If so, care to share?

Nice, while there is nothing wrong with my east coast camping options, I continue to be envious of those on the west coast.
