G'day cnoel12 I have just purchased one myself very similar E83 2 litre diesel m sport pack mine has 177000 klms ( Australia ) that's a bit more than yours over 100,000 miles , I think they are good for these sort of mil ages but look for a service history as this is very important , also the type of driving as the majority of wear occurs before the engine attains operating temperature long distance driving can be easier on the equipment than lots of short city trips , I'm also handy with the spanners so if you do purchase it keep in touch , mines a bit in front of yours miles wise so I'll let you know how mine goes

Hi, I am Jerome. Some may recognize the last name. Anyhow i am an owner for 11 months now. and want to give thanks to all members and even non. Intelligence is gained through processing all available information. And there is no shortage ther with BMW. The myths get mixed up in with the facts. To make this short every piece of info I read contributed to me healing the condition of my friend. 95 740i. trans failsafe prog. pop-up. I had a stall and then crank with no start. ended up replacing cam and crank sensors only to reach conclusion of fuel pump and sticky fuses and relays. (keep these clean) they are often the cause of your machines wanting your attention. After the pump was when I saw the failsafe. A Man who's information I find indespenseble! his knowledge and character I admire and value so much pulled me through. Others as well know this knowledge and this man. Timm. meeknet. The answer was yes electrical will also throw your trans failsafe. As I now know and can verify, some parts MUST be genuine BMW. My crank sensor replacement, (facet) was the cause of the failsafe. All is well Thank all of you.
