F***%$&^*@#$g AC Issue...

Its been hot here, 102 yesterday. Wife heads out to pick up a grocery order around 5PM. Peak heat.

Calls to inform me "AC is out- its blowing hot".

FML.

So I'm running though my head...what might it be, what will I check first, codes, etc. .... and Should I call my AC shop to get an appointment even before I know what's up (i look at the clock and see it will need to wait until Monday....)

So resigned to a day of diagnostics on saturday ...at the very least.

She comes home, and I ask how bad the drive was, thinking it was 102 and she had no AC.

She looks confused for a moment. Then says "oh, I had just turned it off by accident, its fine"

Grrrrrhhhh

OE is Original Equipment aka 'BMW Original Parts' aka 'What you buy at the BMW dealer with a BMW label'

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer... EITHER the company that made the OE part or.... A part this is identical to the OE part, but is sold by the OEM under their own label

OEM is not what BMW sells

I saw the title and author and thought to myself: "Self, this is going to be good!"
I was in tech support for insurance appraisers who had mobile hardware kits for a time in the 90's. The first steps in troubleshooting are always:
1. is it plugged in?
2. Is it turned on?
Heard some choice four letter words as the phone was being slammed on the craddle.

Thanks for the laugh!

So there is a billboard I saw earlier this season on US 50 east of Sacramento.... it says:

Quote:
YOUR WIFE IS HOT.......

...so fix the AC

Its an advertisment for an HVAC company.
