For those asking, here are some pictures of the remaining tread. Like I said, it't not much, but it will get you by for a while.

are you willing to remove the tires before shipping?

I don't really need the tires and the wheels will be both easier and cheaper to ship without them.

Yes, I could do that, but the tires actually protect the wheels during shipping. That's why I was keeping them on.

Mr. Baumann has them on his lovely 323Ci... I am sure he has some pictures of them. I think they look good, but I have no desire to get 18s unless I am forced to. I already cringe every time I hit one of our pot holes with my 17s.

they are the identical diameter, widths, offsets, hubcenter, and bolt pattern as the 18" wheels that come in the Z4 3.0 Sport suspension option (SSP). They fit all Z4 models. Those are also the OE size tires that come on the Z4, but the OE tires are Bridgestone RE050 runflats.

So, TeamZ4, the wheels below, obviously both pictured on Z4s, should fit the E46 as well? These are two great looking wheels, IMO.

Yes, picture no. 1 shows the 3.0 Sport wheels that ship on the Euro export cars, but available from any BMW part supplier:\

BMW Composite Wheel, Star Spoke Style 108
2-Piece Light Alloy Wheel

18 x 8.0 @ 47mm front wheel: Part No. 36 11 6 758 194

18 x 8.5 @ 50mm rear wheel: Part No. 36 11 6 758 195

List Price: approx. $550 each

--------------------------------

picture no. 2 is another accessory wheel

BMW LA Wheel, Double Spoke 125
Alloy Wheel

18 x 8.0 @ 47mm front wheel: Part No. 36 11 6 760 678

18 x 8.5 @ 50mm rear wheel: Part No. 36 11 6 760 681

probably similar pricing

you should be able to find 10 - 20% discount somewhere. A salvage yard had a set of the Style 108's for sale on eBay several weeks ago, but they were quite scuffed up. The sizes/offsets listed are identical to the 18" E46 Performance package wheel specs.
