F22 / F23 2 Series (2014 - Current)
The 2 Series coupe is the replacement for the E82/E88 1 series coupe. Production starts in November 2013 on the 228i (N20) and M235i (N55) coupes. Look for them in dealerships in February 2014. The convertible F23 2 series will follow in the fall of 2014.

Used 2017 230i Inspection

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase my first BMW from a used car dealer, and it's a 2017 230i manual 4cyl turbo with ~39000 miles on it. Clean carfax report showing a recently replaced break!. I have been reading this forum on the common issues, which seem to be electronics, but I would like to know what are the other mechanical issues I should look for. I'm not very good with fixing car so should I have a BMW dealer inspect it? The main concerns I have are engine, valve leaking issues, CCV, etc..

Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated, and thank you in advance!

You should have a BMW dealer or an independent BMW service inspect the car - the latter will be cheaper than the former. However the car should still have some of the original warranty (4 yrs/50k miles) so a dealer would be my first choice.

If youíre in the US go to www.bimrs.org to find a reputable indie shop that specializes in bimmers. Depending on youíre location the pre-purchase inspection will cost between $125 to $250. Make sure the shop writes down every problem and how much itíll cost to fix the problem. Use that info as leverage with the dealer.
