428i Garage Door Opener Function

I am thinking of purchasing a 2014 428i x-drive hard top convertible. It is fully loaded with lots of extra options.

However, it seems to be missing the garage door opener function (ie: the 3 buttons on the visor or rear view mirror, etc). Everywhere I read, it states that this is standard from factory for this model and year.

Is this located somewhere else in the vehicle? It is not a deal breaker however just curious if anyone knows why this model is missing the garage door opener buttons.

Thanks.

My 2015 328i M sport is well optioned and my car does not have a Homelink garage door opener.

I don't recall what option was needed to get homelink, but I know there was one higher trim option that was called something like the technology package. I know the higher tech package included the heads up display, but I'm not sure what else came with it. I have leather, M Sport, satellite radio, dual temp A/C, adaptive headlights, etc., but no Homelink.

When I was optioning my F22, the built-in garage opener was part of the M-Sport package for 2018. For year 2019, it was moved to the Premium Pkg option; needless to say, I just purchased a stand alone garage opener, works just as well if not better from a distance.

I have to correct my previous message. My 2015 M Sport with Premium package does have the homelink opener buttons.

I don't have an electric garage door opener, so I've never looked at the bottom of the mirror and realized the buttons were there.

I can't speak to the convertible. But I thought only the 320 didn't have Homelink standard.

IIRC it was part of an optional package on my 2014 335i. For the OP - itís buttons attached to the bottom edge of the rear view mirror.

You can actually buy a mirror with homelink and replace the non-homelink mirror. The wiring should all be there. I did that on my 2012 X5 and also got the built-in compass display.

This is the option for my 2014 428i coupe. S319A Integrated universal remote control. I would lookup your vin in mdecoder.com and see if it is there in the build data.
