Anyone heard of This LSD,

Was reading on different LSDs for my 2010 335i. It lacks an lsd as you all know. And I can tell when compared to my previous car that had it. Traction Sucks!

I found one for under $1000. From Mfactory. Anyone have any luck with these? Has lifetime warranty. How is it compared to quaife? It looks great and I am also wondering how much a shop would charge to install it? A couple of hours I would assume Maybe $300-400?

They have none for welded ring gears - check Wavetrac's chart.

It's only $300 difference. But for another $500 can get quaife. From everything I've been reading the quaife is the best. Most reliable and just overall better performance. I dunno?

M Factory makes a good product and has been in business for quite a while and from what I've seen have excellent customer service. They just recently entered the BMW market within the past 2 or 3 years. They're quite active on the other forums that are more technically oriented. They've also developed upgraded axles and driveshafts for BMW's as well.

If you have a welded R&P it doesn't matter which LSD you go with, they'll all require machining. I know M Factory offers a pre-built pumpkin which makes it possible for the DIY'er to do it themselves at a better price than anywhere else I've seen. Of course it's more expensive but you do get your core charge back and it minimizes the down time by making it a simple swap out.

Since mine is bolted on I am good. Seems like it's worth it. I do autocross and having the open diff really slows me down around corners. I've had a Porsche that had lsd and would beat my Bmw even though it had a little less power. Just no replacement for lsd imho.

If you're bolted, you are good to go. I'd flip over to bimmerboost.com or E90post.com and you can find quite a bit of feedback on their products.

A lot of people have been happy with M factory diffs. I'f I didn't have AWD, that'd be one of my top choices.

I've also heard good things about the M factory differentials.

Cool thanks. Now I wonder if the average performance shop can be trusted to install it? I have a place but not sure how much they work on BMWs ? Hmm. Any suggestions on Saint Louis?

There is going to be a group buy on them shortly, I'll update this thread when I get more news as I'm in the market for one as well. Same with Wavetrac, I've spoken with a rep that can get a good discount. MFactory does bolted and welded and they will build the diff for you. Wavetrac will sell the diff but they don't have many cores for a group buy.

Isn't Mfactory just a bolt on for most models? I checked vin and mine is NOT welded.

I think an LSD will make the biggest difference in handling. Sure lowering springs. Or coil overs will help. And good tires and rims. But after much research I've come to the conclusion my 355 hp 335i desperately needs an LSD. You can just tell coming out of corners that the car can handle much much more traction. Mfactory LSD it is!

Those who have had their diffs replaced with any LSD how noticeable was the change? In other words in spirited driving did you notice it or just on a closed track or course? Like autocross.
