JediZ -

Keep in mind that the connectors on the seats changed sometime around the MY2000 and up. If someone with an '00 or earlier proposes to swap, have them verifiy which connectors they have.

The newer cars have one large (we'll talk driver's side only) yellow and black connector with a slide lock. The older cars have multiple smaller connectors.

I have original Z3 Coupe 3.0i connectors (MY 2001) they could use with the M Coupe seats. I am sure this swap shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks for the heads up. We'll see how this goes....

Right, the Z3s and the Ms have the same connectors (for the same model years). The only thing to watch out for would be an older seat/newer seat swap.

Can you splice the old style into the new style connector (MY 2000) on up?

I'm sure it's doable. I was afraid we were going to have to do that with Roadsterwench's seats. She got some M Roadster seats from a salvage place (so I was pretty sure they would have the old style), but her car (I believe a '99) also had the old style.

One way would be to get the connectors for both ends and make a conversion cable. Another way would be to do as you suggest and splice in a new connector. But both cars would have to do it, so a lot easier if you find someone with same connectors.
