Question ZHP alcantara wheel avail?

Is the ZHP Alcantara steering wheel available for purchase yet. Any ideas about how much it will be?

Thanks, $550 sounds a little steep right now. It was really just a thought.

$550 is a little steep. There are lower prices.

But no way it can include the airbag. The round airbag costs $500 itself.

geez, i've been thinking about scoring a ZHP, but have no interest in that wheel or the 18's.... would trade/sell them both within days of delivery

is there a way to get a regular M3 wheel and M68's instead...?

Maybe BMW comes to their senses and offers up the ZHP performance tweaks as standard 330i fair in the final year of the current production design. Till then you have to suffer with the 'Fanatics accouterments.

Hey, sorry for the slow response. I was away for the weekend at the track.

Here's the part # for that wheel:
32 34 7 919 218

I called around and most dealers can't get it yet, but think they will be able to later. Call this guy: Chris Crinion at Crevier BMW
(714)835-3171 x.393

I ordered one from him. He's asking something like $435, list is $540. (So that guy at $550 at e46fanatics sounds wacked.) Chris said he has to order them from Germany (they don't stock them) and it'll take 2-3 weeks to arrive. Mine isn't here yet. I'm willing to be the guinea pig on this one. So we'll see if it all works- the order and the install...

Thanks for the info. I would be real interested to hear how the install goes and what you think of it.

Sure.

I ordered the alcantara shift boot, too. ($48).

I'll post with whatever happens to it all. I'll believe that I can get it when it actually arrives.

I'd bet I'd have a tough time getting those prices from Crevier. Even when I talk to Chris, I seem to get crappier pricing than phone-in customers.

Which is why I crossed out Crevier from my list. Chris has very inconsistent pricings on the parts. One day he will quote $25 more and another day, $15 less. Until I confronted him once (nicely of course) and he brought the price down a little, still $5 more expensive, and explained that the $5 is due to a recent price increase. ha! Whatever.

Yeah, well Chris was the only one I could find who would order the wheel. So we'll see if it ever arrives. If it does and fits on the car, I'll be pretty happy with him.

And Vince, this may be the wheel I've been looking for and bugging you about in the past. We shall see...

Ahh....I was wondering why your nick seems so familiar.

I am going back to alcantara as well. Leather just doesn't cut it for my mild sweaty palm syndrome.

What happened to the original alcantara wheel? Did you sell it?

I was reading in the latest Roundel about the trip taken with the new 330ZHP and ... I read the part about the author being annoyed by the irregularity in the Alcantara wheel ... and how his thumb kept going over it ......thats the same reason why I have decided not persue putting one in my car.... that and because to me it feels like those old foam bicycle handle bar covers
