BMW Boston Bruins Event

Just got invited to attend a BMW sponsored event involving the Boston Bruins. It also includes a $1k incentive for purchase or lease. I am in the market right now, so this is perfect me. I will be ordering and there is a clause about in-stock models only. I feel like this is always written in these offers, but people still are eligible when ordering. I'm assuming I can still take advantage of this offer. Can anyone chime in on this?

*$1,000 offer valid on eligible vehicles retailed March 28th, 2017 through June 29th, 2017. Eligible models include: All new 2016 and 2017 BMWs Ineligible vehicles: M2 Coupe, M4 GTS Coupe, MINI vehicles and BMW CPO/CPO Elite vehicles do not qualify. European Delivery vehicles do not qualify. This offer cannot be used for previously ordered or previously delivered vehicles and is only valid on delivery of in-stock vehicles. Offer valid to registered Bruins Hockey Experience Program Offer attendee or any family member residing within the same household who participated in an on-site ride & drive. Offer valid on final negotiated price and may be combined with other applicable BMW offers that are available at the time of purchase. Only one OL number per vehicle may be used. Offer valid towards lease or purchase price of eligible vehicle. Only dealers participating in the event may redeem offer.

The way around it that I am aware of, is (if the dealer is willing) for the dealer to order your car but not order it priority 1 sold (just order it into stock at the dealership) with a "handshake" type deal that you will be the purchaser of the vehicle.

Of course, the dealer has to be willing to sell your spec if you back out, and you have to be ok with not having your name on your car, etc etc. You also need to be ordering a spec that does not include any "priority 1 only" options (options that can only be ordered on an ordered car).

Probably best to do with a dealer you have worked with before and have a relationship with... If there is another way to do it, I dont know.

Which dealer? I ordered a car 2 days ago from BMW Peabody, used a AARP and a Winter Drive Event coupon. Drive event had same wordage but I was able to use it on an ordered car. My guess is that my order did not go in Priority One.

My CA is at Herb, so I will be dealing with him over the next couple of days. I got the impression that all of these events/promotions have the same disclaimer. BTW, did you also get the $1500 'loyalty' credit?

Disclaimers are similar but some dealers seem to be able to work around them or maybe work them a little differently? No "loyalty credit", thought that was only for leasing? We are paying cash. Besides which my Wife's BMW is almost 10 years old. Not a Herb Chambers fan but I always say work with the dealer & CA who is in your comfort zone.

My experience is that these event coupons allow some amount of stretching, as in the car wasn't totally custom but wasn't on a lot in the US either.

The wording on the coupon and program rules have no stretching and are black and white. However, dealers do this for a living so they know how to play within the rules. It's possible that your CA has a car "for center use" about to go into production and he changed the specs to what you wanted. Your name isn't on it so it is still "dealer stock". Or, there could be enough money on the deal where the can take the extra $1k off and just telling you they're applying the incentive. If BMW accepts it good, if not, they still made their money and you wouldn't see a difference.

P.S.: +1 for BMW of Peabody. Ordering with Alex and Frank was so easy and painless. I only physically stepped foot in the dealership once and that was just for the pre turn in inspection and to sign papers.
