7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

My E65 Gong is too loud. How to adjust it. Please help

Hi there

I have 2007 E65 740LI
and the single gong became too loud suddenly. I tried everything I could to adjust it but it seems there is no such setting. How can I fix it ?

Thanks

Have you tried turning the turning the volume nob while the sound is present?
Don't know if it would work but I do know that the gong is generated in the ASK unit but i haven't found anything about the volume. So maby through coding.

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried that too but it didn't work. I used carly adapter to perform some minor coding. I'm using a Bluetooth radio transmitter too to connect my iPhone to the car.

Did you by chance find how to correct the "gong" sound problem? Mine is not working for whatever reason and trying to get the sound back.

There is a gong test function in the instrument cluster service menu.
