7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

Pic's of finished tuner mod , ipod , sub box , tv's in headrest install

Ok I was asked to post pic's of my install after my tuner mod .
So here they are .

here you go , I took these pic's when my buddy was finishing
the inside of the trunk & putting the Navi back in so Please
excuse the mess . If you want or need updated pic's I'll be
happy to take some when I charge my camera & have time .
Only thing left to do is turn the box around so the speakers
face the back of the car , & I'm having him make a front cover
so you won't see the actual speakers or the box .

Here are pic's of =
front top wood drawer with my Ipod
center console with 3 switches for sound & video selection
both ( ALPINE ) headrest & wireless headphones
sub box with ( 2 Kicker SoloBarics ) 10 inch
side panel with DVD player , Navi , JL Audio clean sweep
you cant see the amp cause it is mounted to the deck of
the car over the box . If you have any question's don't
hesitate to ask . Oh ya you also can't see the ( pxi unit
or whatever it's called )
which allows me to watch movie's from the Ipod or DVD
on my front Navi screen .

thanks bro...

someone told me there is a module that would work...but since its a factory monitor and dvd changer they wouldnt have AUX ports so they would have to tap into some wires...

so unless its someone that knows what they are doing or very veryyy clear DIY instructinos i dont wanna touch it.

Does the signal for you clean sweep come after the factory amp or before?

Have you ever looked into repacing the door and rear deack speakers? If so, what will fit. I'm not sure if any 4" speaker will fit due to the sunshades in the back, or if any 4" speaker will work.

What year is yours? I have the same old phone shown in your pic next to your new one. I need to figure out how to get a phone to work.

With the tuner mod, does the text from the iPod display on the screen?

I'm debating that now , & I've been told that it will be hard to find
something to fit . I might try some MB Quart components

THANK YOU , I wanted something simple & clean & I didn't want to use

that looks nice, i still love headrest TVs, after all this time. all of my cars had headrest screens except for the 7

that what i would have done but the previous owner...

put in 2 flip down TVs with wireless headphones and each has a DVD player (HONESTLY, i really HATE how it looks in my car, but after finding out that the removal of those TV's would require a new headliner, they cut it to fit the TVs i decided to leave them)

Same here , all my cars have headrest tv's . I have a little girl
so it's a must for me . Plus I like the fact that each tv can play
something different all at the same time , & with the headphones
it's a plus cause I can still listen to what I want on the car speakers
or vice versa .

As for the flip downs , I personally hate those damn things .

it gives you a reason to upgrade to the alcantra liner! Also you can use the BMW rear entertainment system that goes in the headrests!

This one says it's not compatible with models that have idrive. Is this the exact one you have?

You've started redoing the exterior, why not do the interior, you sit inside it after all
