Update on Air pressure

An update on my article about air pressure in my non-run-flat Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires. My 2015 Z4 only had 2380 miles when I purchased it last June and when I changed the run-flats I only had 3320 on the tires.

I had experience with run-flats when I owned a Corvette that had them. Just like the Z4, the ride and performance were lacking on the vette until I changed them.

I now have 560 miles on the new tires and the ride and handling is fantastic as I knew it would be over the stiff riding original run-flats that came with the vehicle. It was suggested in a previous article to lower the air pressure to 33 psi for the front and 39 psi for the rears and this seems to be a perfect combo.

If I should get a flat I have AAA and a Slime Tire kit with a compressor in the trunk. Also, it is a lot easier finding a non-run-flat and cheaper than having to replace a pair of run-flats

Thanks for the update. There are so many other threads with folks trying interesting stuff, but they never come back and tell us how it went/ended.
