Car no longer flashes lights or beeps when locking/unlocking

Hello everyone. I am looking for an advice on what could be wrong.

After I came back from a 7-week vacation, my car no longer beeps or flashes the lights when locking/unlocking. This was working fine for as long as I have owned the car until I returned from my vacation. While I was gone, car was in locked state.

Things to note:
1. The red indicator no longer blinks
2. Instrument Cluster and iDrive stay on after I lock the car.
3. I tested panic mode and that works just fine (car siren goes off and lights flash as expected).
4. The relevant options are checked in iDrive.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

A shut detector is 'stuck' in the open condition.
