Smile DIY: Thermostat replacement in details

Hey guys,

This forum seems very slow but FWIW I made a video replacing the thermostat a while ago and figured I would post it. Hope it helps someone! It wasn't as bad as it sounds... Just get the thermostat housing cover and save yourself the hassle of pulling the old gasket etc... It was like $71 from FCP at the time.

I used pressure test kit which is a must for this DIY because as expected, I had a massive leak when I put the parts back together... Imagine doing all this work only for it to leak coolant the moment you crank the engine. You can rent the tool from many places... They're all essentially the same but just double check the kit has a fitting that works on your expansion tank before you start the repair.

Good luck!
