Wiring should be similar to the 525i

not sure if anyone else encounters this problem during the winter but doors and windows will not work when below freezing point. 30degrees Fahrenheit... Would assume this is an electrical problem but living in new england, you could only imagine the frustration of not being able to lock/unlock your doors. And no fresh air. Any help???

Please note, to people using this in the future, european market cars will be very similar if not identical, but some further research may be required.

It will also be of NO use to 520i owners, they run a totally different body loom to other E34 models
Thread was not renamed.

I have a 1994 530i - I've only owned it for a couple of week, but notice that the dash output for Odometer, trip odo, and shift selector will intermittently flake out, and then display properly. I haven't started to dig, but wondering if anyone else has experienced this or where to start?

Also - the traction control light stays on after the switch has been pressed. Fuse, ABS, other??

Thanks

After a visit to a body shop to fix a ding, my fog lights have never operated properly. The left light gets no power, the right one is on when ever the car is running and the switch does not turn it off. Also the dash always says 'FOG LIGHT'. Maybe we will be able to trouble shoot the problem with this manual. Oh yea! the body shop denies having any thing to do with the lights.

as mentioned the foglights are on the same line. Which means you have a short or broken line. Typical spot is at the foglights connector itself. Check the connector for breaks in the line or any bare wiring.

Now the light on the dash. Was the switch working prior?

Check your grounding points. Current is probably jumping from another circuit where the ground is poor and grounding through the right fog light.

Yep, I recently resurrected the right fog light by cleaning the connections between the harness connector and the twist-off cap on the fog lamp housing. The connection sees a lot of moisture down there and is not waterproof.
