Folding mirrors

So I have a 2004 e60 And I wanted to switch my mirrors with folding mirrrors
I was able to purchase folding mirrors however when I got them I tried to swap the mirrors. My cars mirrors has two connectors one with 5 and the other one with. 4 wires. And the one that I purchased. Only has 3 wires into one connector. I saw on google how to probably adapt it but it links up to the KGM module which I don't have aperantly my modules are on the door. Do anyone knows if I could make this work or have I bought a useless folding mirror
I also tried looking some up with two connectors but for some reason all the folding mirrors I see have three connectors or one. But my car receives 2.

Useless purchase until you get all the parts, modules switches then coding.
Probably have some wiring to do too.

If you have a pick your part yard near you, just source the things you are missing. RealOEM is a guide to see what you need to get. Or check eBay as it's sometimes cheaper just to order a used part.

On Realoem you can also see if the parts are interchangeable, meaning if a module you have will do the job or if you need to swap it with something else.

Coding can set up the car so if you hold down the lock button on the key fob they will pivot inwards, and outwards by holding unlock.

Probably need the armrest switch, I don't know if you can code the car without the switch to use just they keyfob. The switch and the mirrors may need to be in communication.

My guess on the wiring is that everything is already there, BMW, like most car companies these days, offer a lot of options which usually work with the existing wiring loom.

These cars aren't hard to update/modify and since they are found in junk yards used parts are pretty cheap. Have fun with it!

Check out newtis.info
Somewhere there will be a wiring diagram showing what wires need to be added. I suspect it's all going to be taken car of inside the door. You may not even need to code in the option.

You'll definitely need the correct driver's side door switch module, or to add your own button for the mirrors. The missing wires likely go to a few empty terminals on the module in the door.

Folding mirrors was not a option on the 04-05 model year e60's. Actually I believe it was a LCI addition, could be wrong on the LCI portion. At any rate for a 04-05 good luck.

Do you have an idea on how I can have it done. I have a set of spare ones with folding motors but the connectors only have 3 wires and the one that my car has are two connectors one with 5 wires and the other one with 4 wires. And there is no purple wire in it

Get on newtis.info and dig up your car's wiring diagram for the mirrors. You may get lucky and just have to run an extra wire.

I have the folding mirrors on my 2004, they fold manually. Just replaced glass on driver recently. Had to sort out which one to get. There are definitely different mirrors available, quite a list. Mine was heated and auto-dim, and connectors were definitely different than non auto-dim.
