Blackout F10

Hi All,

Just recently upgraded from an E60 to a December 2012 F10 2.0D Msport in Carbon black. It has the chrome grill, chrome side repeaters and chrome strips on the handles, which I'm thinking about changing to black gloss. Has anyone already done this and do you have pictures?

A Google search will show you all kinds of pictures on that.

I am seriously trying to understand why you post this? The person is asking for pictures or advice on how to do a visual mod. The forum is practically a ghost town and it's not like it's booming with activity so this post does take away from anything. Isn't this post the point of the forum to ask fellow owners a question?

Thanks for this. As I've been a member of forums from previous cars I've had, I couldn't understand why someone would try and put off a new poster

I'm sorry I wasn't trying to put you off, I was trying to point you in a direction.
I thought with all the pictures already out there you could find what you were looking for plus giving you other ideas.
Again, my apologies.

It's not a problem. The main reason I was hoping people would post pics was so I could ask for advice on parts or maybe see something different that interested me.

I've got a few ideas and to be honest I did an extensive look on Google (after your post ) and I did find some nice pics. The main issue for me is the chrome side repeaters and trim on the door handle but I'm thinking of just wrapping them.

Haven't done other chrome deletes besides the front grilles. Got the double slat style off of ebay.

Here's a picture pre-M sport conversion.

I have started doing some blackout work with my white beauty. It started with Iowa offering blackout license plates. I bought gloss black lettering and black stickers to cover all the blue on the emblems from esc tuning. Not pictured are there chrome black exhaust tips. I got the gloss black grill from fcp euro. They offer lifetime replacement on those. Could have gone cheaper on ebay but i got oem. I got the side markers and black xdrive emblem from ebay. Plan to wrap mirrors and roofline eventually. Will also replace the chrome on the handles eventually.

I like the look of Matte black grilles myself. That's what I did with mine. I'll be doing matte black sidemarkers too

Yes, I blacked out my grill, and wrapped my chrome side markers and door handle trim in carbon fiber wrap. I also tinted the side flasher lights and put the M Performance rocker panel strip on the bottom of the car. Looks incredible.

That looks really good. Was it easy to wrap the side markers and door handle trims?

I'm in two minds whether to go gloss black or change bits to carbon

I have a blacked-out grill and powder coated rims on my '15 Carbon Black 535D with the M-Sport package. Removed the 535D logo. Still has the chrome side markers and handle accents though. One of these days I'll get better photos of it.

That looks good. Think I'll start with the grill and then decide if it's worth blacking out the side markers and handle strips
