So What Did You Do To Your ‘6’ Today ?

This was a very popular running thread in another Forum I frequented.
Post mechanics/esthetic things.
Pictures encouraged but not mandated.

I’ll go first.

My new to me ‘6’ got new shoes today.
Michelin Pilot Sports AS 3+ on American Racing 922 Satin Gray Milled wheels.
245’s & 285’s 20’s.
The Alpine White brings out the two tone grays on the wheels.
I like ‘em.

Who’s up next...

Nothing to add today, but we should consider this as a sticky, so when people want to add it is quite easy!!!

Agree.
On the Rennlist 928 Forum it was one of the most viewed and posted in threads.

I'll go again.
Small stuff.
Engine air filters, cabin air filters, oil change with my oil, installed under car fasteners where they were missing, and lastly put plates on the car. I chose not to use the tow hook plate because it would either infringe upon the front sensor, fog light, or directional. The BMW center plate holder is a good flush, firm fit.
Took it for a good drive on the new wheels and very much of an improvement on what the car came with. At speeds from 20 to 130 mph they were true, and consistently quiet.

Installed Navigation Update from Bimmer America today.
Seems to work so far when stationary. Will put it through it's paces soon.

PS: Surprised no one else has included their car travails. Oh well.

+You have to be patient as this forum is much quieter, for my part I am taking out a new 8 Series convertible tomorrow as the dealer sorts an issue with my car. I have tried the 850m Coupe, so will see how the convertible stacks up against my 640 SE convertible.

Hope all goes well with the car.

My car is in for a scratch repair and have a 840d convertible on loan. Did some 140 miles yesterday on some twisty roads, pointless doing motorways as this tells you little about how a car drives. Well I have already tried the 850M coupe and to drive it was intoxicating with the power and road craft. So it has been interesting to see how this 840d stacks up. well the 840d is no slow coach and with Xdrive and 4 wheel steering it is amazing on the twisty bits. Given I was pushing it the diesel is quite good on the MPG stakes. I felt I always knew it was a diesel but to be fair that takes nothing away from the drive. Clearly I am making comparisons to my own 640i and have come to the conclusion I prefer my 640i. This is for many reasons. The more I drive these 8 Series I think BMW have missed a big opportunity, especially the price premium over the old aaargh 6 series.
