Buying used BMW 640i (F13 coupe) - concerns

Hi everyone,
considering buying used 640i (coupe) soon. My budget is a little bit restricted, so its most likely going to be 2011/2012 year with somewhat higher mileage (but definitely not more than 200 000 km). I am looking for someone who has experience with this particular car and engine (N55). How is the engine reliable overall? What are the biggest concerns? I would like to know what particular parts are most susceptible to fail and which ones are the most expensive.

I have a good friend who is a great mechanic and mostly services BMWs (but somehow he has never come across this particular engine, whats why he was unable to tell me more). He will be servicing my vehicle for fraction of price compare to the original dealership. Also from a brief look it looks like there is solid aftermarket with replacement parts (in central Europe), so I wont have to be buying overpriced OEM parts from original dealership.

I am coming from E60 525i (2004), maintaining which doesnt cost me that much (maybe 1K USD overall per year), so I want to know what kind of budget I have to count with.

thanks in advance!

To be fair the straight six is bullet proof and has been used in various guises for a long time across a whole range of models. Most people have had issues with the V8's. I would suggest buying a code reader/diagnostic tool and do a dump of any car you buy. Whilst some codes can be reset, some cannot be easily erased, unless of course it is done by BMW or an independant with the right software. I am sure others can assist with anything else. You will just have to do a search
