Is there a plastic part missing in my grill area

While I was replacing the radiator in my '01 E39 540i, as I was looking from the front of the car through the lower grill area, it looked like there was a plastic part missing. Look at the attached picture & tell me if there suppose to be something in front of the opening on RH side where you can see the A/C evaporator. Looks like a rock could get through & damage it. There's a couple movable flaps to the left.

Don't worry about rocks

All platforms have a 64-53-condenser-dryer-with-lines section.

LOL! Not worried about those in the newtis pic. I'm more worried about the one that puts a hole into it & then needs replacing.

I put a piece of gutter screen, the type with 1/4" +/- diameter holes, in front or the air duct for the alternator. You could do the same in this location if that would calm your concerns.

Of that I am not sure. Maybe somebody with the V8 can chime in.

Also, take a picture of the same area but from more of a distance so people can orient themselves more easily.

Here's a pic showing it better. As you can see, there's a straight shot to radiator

Install a screen like the 911 owners do. End of possible problems...
