Japanese Import Stereo/Navigation

Hi All,

First post, apologies if it's been done before.

I've just bought a 2009 325i touring. I'm in New Zealand so it's a Japanese import. I absolutely love the car but the stereo frequency and navigation are both set to Japan. Is there a way I can change this without it costing me a fortune. For example, does the stereo have a setting that can be changed depending on it's location?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Which Head Unit do you have Idrive or Pro Radio ?
Or is it something that is only relevant to Japan.?
Not sure if it can be changed from the service menu you may need a coding
setup. There is more than one type of idrive head unit.

Usually the Head Units are programmable.

Either try to change from the service menu or get a coding setup
and edit the appropriate CIC files.
I see Oceania is one of the frequency selections.
In the meantime you could always use the aux and phone or
other device for music.

Bimmergeeks.net cable and downloads
This will give you coding and diagnostic cabablitys

see e90post idrive and coding subforums for details,
